About Me I've been selling sewing patterns all over the world since 1998. I was a top seller on Ebay before moving to my own website. A few years ago, I moved my store to Etsy, where it's been ever since. Since then, I have added books and sewing supplies, as well as knitting and crochet patterns. I love finding you treasures that you can use to create your own styles! I am a wife, mom, grandma, dog-spoiler and lymphoma and rheumatoid arthritis warrior. I also happen to be a nurse with forty years of experience in healthcare. My grandmother worked as a fashion editor for Pictorial Review in the early 1920s, so I come by my love of fashion genetically. I started selling online when my kids were little. I'm not sure how I got so fascinated with sewing patterns at the time, but they became my true passion. I spend my spare time counting and photographing patterns for you, but also studying sewing and fashion history for myself. Full disclosure: I'm only just learning to sew! I grew up loving needle arts like embroidery, knitting and needlepoint, but as the youngest of five children, my mom was tired of teaching kids to sew, so I never officially learned. That being said, I can still tell you a LOT about sewing patterns and their history. Over the years, I've been featured in the Indianapolis Star twice, as well as various online sources and even Threads Magazine. I believe strongly that you should do what you love, and I do! I list new patterns every day, and recently reactivated my blog, The Vintage Fashion Librarian, where I post at least a couple of times a week. The blog consists of tidbits of fashion and sewing history that I've found in my studies that I think people will be interested in. Check it out and tell me what you think. Down time will find me hanging out with my family, especially my husband and two wonderful grandgirls. We love to travel and people watch. I'm also in treatment for lymphoma, so if you don't see new listings on a given day, it's just because I'm worn out and need to rest. I'm probably curled up on the couch with the dogs reading a fashion book, or watching a true crime documentary. I love to read (anything) draw and paint (badly), and try new things. I believe that kindness should be practiced daily, and smiling makes everything better. Check out my site. I'm glad you're here! Lisa |
