Infant Baby Toddler Smocked Dress Smocking Vintage Sewing Pattern McCall 878 Size 1

This is an original printed pattern.  It has been previously used but is complete.  From 1941. Nothing is sweeter than smocking for soft little frocks.  One-wave smocking forms the tiny diamonds in this design.  The rows are nicely spaced and nicely grouped, and the stitch is the same throughout.  Easy to do. Dress has tiny puff sleeves attached to narrow band.  Peter Pan collar.  Back sash.  Back bodice closes with snaps.

Complete with all pieces and instructions. Envelope side seam has come apart and there are small tears, but nothing that affects use of the pattern.  Instructions are very fragile but useable.  There is a tear and the creases are coming apart, as well as a small stain on them, but they are readable and useable, you'll just want to handle them gently, as you normally would anyway.
